Mike Whittaker

Mike Whittaker is CTO for Outernet Global, a new immersive cultural and entertainment district in London’s West End, that when open in 2021 will boast a 26k resolution wrap around LED video screen, as well as new entertainment venue.  He is responsible for the technology and media operation for this new ground-breaking venture.   

Prior to his current role Mike was CTO for Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific and MENA, leading technology strategy as well as delivery and operations across broadcast, digital and infrastructure.  Prior to that Mike worked with the UK’s ITV on their PPV sports strategy and operation.  

As Sports Information Services’ Director of Operations & Technology Mike lead on production, data and field-based operations as well as technology strategy and infrastructure. Here he led the development of the data-gathering technology for in-play sports book coverage of Spanish football, low latency streaming, as well as fully automated live sports channels and remote production.    

Mike has also held senior technology and operational roles at Technicolor, OSN and the BBC.   Mike holds BA (Hons) and MBA degrees and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
